Agile devs— do you attend sprint planning?

I want to, but my boss told me not to go (waste of my time, he says). Only leads attend them, then they come back with tickets for the rest of the team. But a few other devs I’ve spoken to found that absurd, since attending lets you choose your tickets to a certain extent.

Do you attend yours? Is it crazy not to? Am I missing out? (I ask bc ours is happening right now— and it’s so empty in here!)

Not sure if you're doing Scrum, but the key principle of that is that all developers and testers attend all meetings.

Yeah all devs should attend. You're being fucked.

You are doing waterfall. It's not agile. Stop pretending.

We have a small team Sprint planning/sizing (for devs in each technology) which is great because we get to choose some of the tasks and then another for the whole team which is mandatory only for the leads and it'is a bit boring. Non-lead devs can listen but that's mostly it. I like them because at the end the commercial guys show their numbers sometimes and it's pretty cool to hear all the money they get with my work (?).
