Kicking myself. Not only will I be unable to drive the 7 hours to the path of totality for the eclipse, I also neglected to buy eclipse glasses until the last minute. The only store around me that still had them sold out yesterday and it's too late to order online from the few manufacturers that still have them. Can't even find welder goggles in the right shade (14 or more). Why do I put things like this off until the last minute?!

    Where are you? I planned a huge trip, 4k miles in 9 days. Day 1 was today.

    Use your phone's selfie camera as the viewer. That might work. When I was a kid, we would use aluminum foil and a box to make a pinhole viewer that would project the eclipse image. The hard part was being disciplined enough not to look up while trying to get lined up.

    You can use...
    A) pinhole / focal point viewer
    B) Welding helmet/glass
    C) Borrow someone else's
    D) Phone camera (idk? Might damage it)

    Also: look at the shadows around you, too, during the total eclipse. Everything has a slight double shadow, and it just looks so strange! That was my favorite part 😊

    @DeveloperACE I'm hearing about that kind of thing left and right. And by the time I inquire, everything is sold out or given away.
