Personally I'm tired of the whole thing. It's become absurd. What started as a metaphor has become something way too literal and it's frankly it's embarrassing.

The duck is something to explain your problem to, forcing you to gain an outside perspective of your situation - typically leading to novel thought and an easy solution.
