Now I haven’t had any super spicy Indian food yet, and I hear it’s the spiciest, but holy fuck this Korean buffalo chicken has me feeling like I have some sort of disease. I literally had to run to the bathroom and I’m still fucking sweating bc I feel like I’m in a fucking sauna.

    Don't ever get the "hot" in a Thai restaurant.

    The reality of Indian dishes is that the locals want their food here to be spicy since most of us grew up eating that way. It's like a taste preference.

    But if I were to make an dish for you, I bet I could turn the spices down a notch and still make it delicious.

    Some friends convinced me to go to a Thai restaurant and I ordered the Pad Thai. It had 3 levels of heat, and loving spicy foods, I ordered the hottest one. The server was like:

    S: "Are you sure?"

    Me: "Yea, I think I can take it"

    S: "Its very spicy. Are you sure?"

    Me: "Now I know I want it. Yes!"

    S: "OoooKaaaay"

    Friends were like "Dude, this place serves crazy hot Pad Thai, you should have started with level 1"

    Food comes, I start...mmm...they were not kidding about the heat, but my goodness it was good.

    Server comes over to me specifically

    S: "Sir, you doing OK? Can I bring you some bread or crackers?"

    Me: "No, this is fantastic. It's really spicy hot, but doesn't overtake the flavor of everything else. I love it"

    S: <smiling> "Thank you sir, I'll let our chef know"

    <later>

    Friends: "I think they must have had a bet back there. Not too many first time white guys order the level 3"
