Because Ubuntu is objectively shit. Fedora is pretty good, but installing Nvidia drivers is horrible. That leaves Arch, which is hard to install, but Manjaro (and Antergos) make it easy. Plus Manjaro is the nicest looking distro ootb. -

Mint and Ubuntu has Good support for Nvidia drivers, basically One click install -
@Linux
Yeah but with Mint the graphics packages are older, which has led to some problems with gaming on my end (no textures in some games) and Ubuntu is... Well, Ubuntu. I stay away from Ubuntu because I disagree with Canonical's politics (like why I stay away from Microsoft and Apple's products because of politics). -
@RiderExMachina but what makes it shit?
I'm curious because I've used it for about two years now and I really like it.
I haven't tried any other distros so I'm probably missing out eh -

Besides my political differences with Canonical, Ubuntu has a lot of outdated programs in the repos. Yes, you can add a PPA for some, but when Fedora has those updated packages on install and Arch has the AUR, the entire system (well, Apt at least) is lackluster.
Also, less than a year ago Ubuntu was wanting to literally be the Windows of the OSS community, which no one in that community liked it wanted.
As a beginner with curiosity to get in to linux, what would you guys recommend me to begin with ?
