"Hey, hey, wouldn't it be great, great,
If we could just lay down and wake up
having 8 years of experience in every programming language?" π΅πΆπ΅

well there is this 10 year old thing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
But I'm pretty sure they thought this is just Apple's swift >_> -
World29687y@gitpush I didn't know there was another Swift. Thanks for the insight. You learn something new everyday.

World29687y@HalfBloodPrince Yeah. Its strange how they don't consult actual people who work in the field before putting out a vacancy announcement.

"Today, day, I want to go away, way,
'Cause there are too many languages now,
I want to be in Know-it-all Town. π" -
World29687y@DGApps You have a point but I think its a little different than that. Say there is an opening for a data analyst. The hired person should present statistical data in bar graphs and what not crunching thousands of data sets. If we rely on the logic that all languages are the same, and its easy for all programmers, we'd be a little off. Languages like R handle data much better than other languages. Imagine going through lengths to make a bar graph in C++ when you can do the exact same thing in one line of code. Another example I found fascinating is the map statement in Python( I'm new to Python). Every language has strengths and weaknesses and its selection is important. Experience is equally, if not more important.

I think they wanted to hire actual creater of swift , may be the only guy who fits in this criteria .π
