Who is the guy who designed the AZERTY keyboards ? 😠

Seriously... Alt Gr + 5 = [

And the most horrible thing is the "(" char... WHY THE FUCK DID HE PUTS IT IN THE "5" KEY WHEN KEYBOARD IS IN LOWERCASE ? YES, IN LOWERCASE, NOT ONLY WHEN SHIFT IS HOLD.

There are more than 100 keys in a keyboard, so why here? WHY?

Half of time I check if CapsLock is off just to be sure if I can open a bracket just because someone thought it was a good idea to put it here. It annoys me.

    I can't help thinking you need to be willing to accept weirdness if you're going to use an alternative keyboard layout. Or are layouts going to be the next thing to go the way of JavaScript where instead of adjusting to what's available everyone will just create their own?

    Feel your pain, portuguese keyboard is not much better, my personal pet peeve: ctrl+[ as default "escape sequence" for telnet.
    For programming I actually bought a second hand thinkpad with GB keyboard and alternate between the two layouts.

    I'm English but I use qwertz because I first keyboard was like that so I always have done

    I use qwerty but am learning dvorak in my free time.

    Italian keyboard is as bad as that. It misses a lot of symbols too

    @crisz yes yes it is, a colleague of mine is Italian and I recommended him to learn another keyboard layout for typing. His typing speed is slow already so switching layouts might help him.

    Danish keyboards uses qwerty as well, however due to having a few extra letters in our alphabet chars like [] {} are really odd positioned..

    So my solution is to use US keyboard at work. Got so used to it I now have it at home as well 😀

    know that pain with azerty xD
    we had a fellow student with from france and it was slow as hell when he tried to write even the simplest script because of the weird layout
