I'm in South Austin so I just have to deal with wind, rain and some light flooding. Rip Houston and Corpus Christi

@Fydrenak we've had 3 terrible floods since 2016 we were lucky that we didn't flood, but each time it got a little closer.

    @dfox @TheDevil @skprog I can see my street again!!!

@runfrodorun the water got || <-- this close. No joke. I'm so glad we sandbagged our door and covered the weep holes.
  • 2
@PaddiM8 luckily we have a second story so my computer was fine
  • 5
    Here are the sandbags
  • 2
Not so clever. Now you have these sandbags with no purpose on your hands 😂

@poster983 that is great news, I'm very glad to hear your house is OK and thank you for letting us know. I hope all of Houston makes a swift recovery!

@dfox it's times like these that give me hope for humanity again. It brings out the best in people for the most part.
A guy from my rival high school had a boat and rescued like 40 people with a couple of his friends. He's 15.

I believe that there are more volunteers than there are refugees at the shelters.

Neighbors helping each other out with food and supplies to groups of 50 people tearing out drywall in 50 other people's homes in like 2 days; everyone's doing something...

Except me, I'm writing collage entrance essays in my room and doing Jack shit to help. Yay me!

    Also a LPT
Don't throw away that bread maker lying in your garage.

It's really useful when the stores are always out of bread.

@poster983 that's awesome to hear how everyone is working together!

    Stay safe man!

Unless the cold front moves in just in time, frickin Irma might make a direct hit on me 😯
