Just wanted to clean up and update my old smartphone (Huawei Y300). Accidentally deleted the home screen and system.ui and can no longer open apps. TRWP (2.5.x) is too old to flash a new image. Need TRWP 2.6.3.3, but it is impossible to update it from within TRWP. Such a crap.

    I just found http://theandroidsoul.com/how-to-in... ... but this does not work because I can not change any settings which would be necessary.

    Don't Huawei have fastboot?
    Or flashing tools?

    @tracktraps
    No ready made img for your model?
    Check Xda if anyone can build you one, no need for a working system to flash a new recovery

    Flash recovery image using fastboot not twrp.

    @tracktraps You don't need USB debugging. Turn off your phone, volume down + power button. Then flash recovery via fastboot like in the tutorial

    Ive come back from worse.
    As long as you can fastboot or get into flashmode, its not over

    @simonwak I finally got it. Thanks for the note about the key combination. Strangely, however, the screen remains black when fastboot is activated. Always thought this was an error. Fortunately "fastboot flash recovery trwp.img -> waiting for any device" ran in the background and after I plugged in the usb cable it suddenly flashed the image.
