So my friend has this idea. I don't know much about it, but from what I do know, it sounds pretty cool and I want to know what you all think.

Basically, it's an ide on the web, that has integration for multiple languages. He wants it to make codeling quicker and more accessible, and it would also allow the poor students who have to deal with shitty school chromebooks to code.

@Artemix I think so...? Like I said, I don't know much about it.

You mean like the (now defunct) Nitrous IDE - https://www.nitrous.io or Cloud 9 - https://c9.io ?

I've done something like that, at wegurus.com, based on the ACE editor. My solution is very simple though, and only supports HTML+JS+CSS at the moment. There's also this thing called fiddle.

I liked cloud9 but it seems like it has been abandoned since amazon bought them out.

That might be an interesting project to code, but from beginning you are going to target a small group of people. There are not many people who will prefer an online IDE vs an actually app on computer.

And as others mentioned, there are already others that have most of the features.

    Like repl.it?

@Lahsen2016 I've never tried. The school makes them sound more than they really are, and the IT people are idiots, so if they think I ruined it by using Linux, I don't want to have to pay $600 for a $300 Chromebook.
