Sounds like they are going to screw you. I once had a (non-dev) job, with 3 months trial period = lower pay. It was quite a crappy job, but at least it was a job and I did my best anyway. Yet, after these three months were up it was bye bye, and of course I wondered what I had done wrong. My senior colleagues at that company told me not to worry, they systematically hired/sacked young people to keep costs down at trial salary.

Ask them that you want to keep them in trial and therefore you need to obfuscate the project.
If they don't agree, place a trigger somewhere in your code for doing the same 🤣
