Not to steal the loght but my family experience something similiar.
We had an uncapped plan of 4mb line
We only ever got 1mb and one day we were 'soft capped' so badly that we couldn't google or access the providers website.
The reason?(paraphrased) 'Your bandwidth has been reduced to allow others in your area a better service'
Firstly. WE HAVE UNCAPPED so we have no cap or limits...
Secondly. THATS NOT OUR FAULT YOUR INFASTRUCTURE ISNT DESIGNED TO TAKE IN ALL THE CLIEBTS YOU KEEP OFFERING 'AMAZING' SERVICES TO!
thirdly. FUCKING PAYING FOR A HIDDEN CAPP UNCAPPED 4MB LINE AND GETTING 1MB AND YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO SOFTCAP US ONTOP OF THAT?! -

That is criminal...I think that most of you have heard of Serbia (and think about us as wildlings), but here we pay 20€/month for 40-50mbps of uncapped internet...

My cable company imposed a data cap on us, then offered an unlimited plan for 50/month. So total would be 150/month for only internet. Unfortunately, they are the only provider.
Until now. I got on the phone with their competition for around 3 hours today and talked them into rolling out to our neighborhood. As of Tuesday, we actually have competition. It feels so good to screw over the cable company like this, especially after how they approached data caps.
