Has anyone fucked up/made a big mistake on a project? Missed a deadline? What did you do and how'd you bounce back?

In my early days I had to lead a project and it totally failed. I didn't have learned yet, that I have to deligate tasks. I wanted to do most of it myself, and because of it everyone was always blocked.

But that's long ago and I have learned from it.

I wouldn't count missing a deadline as a big mistake. But I've had fuckups - mainly around project relationships.

The skill is in realising when a partnership is doomed to fail and to manage its conclusion sensibly.

My main fuckups have been making booboos in prod. I learned to be more careful and luckily I was always able to fix my fuckups.

Imho fuckups are 100% acceptable iff it becomes a learning experience. It's one of my pet peeves when people are afraid to admit they fucked up. Admit your mistakes, learn from them, and move on.

i missed two deadlines last year cause i procrastinated a lot and also i had other projects to finish. since im done with the others, i'll definitely put an effort and finish those two unfinished projects. it all comes down to motivation and time to finish it. the implementation isnt that hard at all, its just me being lazy xD
