pajaja17337yFrom my experience only MacBooks do the trackpad stuff right. There is some other laptops that I tried with decent trackpads but those require Windows 10 so I won't mention them.

buy a wireless mouse, and don't look back.
I blame the win10 hardware requirments for the crappy trackpads. -
SaberShip367yIn the past Asus has had issues with this as well. Older Asus gaming laptops actually had a fix that involved opening the laptop and removing some metal foil on the back of the touchpad. Ofc there's always checking for driver updates.

I recently bought a used HP Elitebook 8560w and the track pad was the thing that most surprised me about it. It actually reminded me of a MacBook one except for having separate buttons that also feel great to my taste (and it also has the nipple mouse thingy for those who like it). Sadly the new ones don't appear to use the same track pad.

adbo6207yI was discussing this last week with someone. Surely Apple must have a patent on that trackpad or something and that's why nobody replicates it? It's far superior to any other I've used before

Faffe37yLook for a Precision touchpad, like on the Surface Book. Those are halfway decent, though not quite magic.
So what's a good programming laptop anyway?
Just got a €1300 Asus at work. Beautiful machine, 4 cores, 16gb RAM,
BUT the trackpad sucks. Really sucks, as in you can't work with it. I'll be scrolling using two fingers, but half the time I just see the cursor going down. Is it only Macbooks that are decent in this field? Is my only hope to get a macbook and run Windows in boot camp? (rly need windows since my companies software is written in .Net
