Github education: You get a bunch of cool free stuff if you are a student.

Intellij: You get all of their IDEs for free if you are a student.

Adobe: You get a discount but you still have to pay 20€ per month as a student.

This is why I love programming and the whole community around it.

    Yeah, JetBrains... I have nothing bad to say about them. Github on the other hand, still good but their support is meh.

    @plusgut still, it's positively smart.

    @gitcommit sure, just wanted to clearify that they don't do it because they are such nice education loving companies. But they do it for selfish reasons, but sure that doesn't make them bad in itself.

    Or just buy Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer once for about 70 bucks, instead of giving Adobe your money every month...

    Yeah but Adobe products are effectively free for students since you can crack them by replacing one single dll file. Which Adobe could easily fix but they want people learn how to use their products so companies have to buy legit licenses.

    My school just gives everyone the ability to buy a creative cloud yearly sub for free once a year. Free, and no software piracy.

    I wonder why would a student buy Adobe products.

    (Don't suggest photography / design "students". Those aren't real students)

    @Noob Yes they are real students

    @Noob they are real students. Think about how stakeholders see dev work as quick and easy. There is so much theory to design than devs/we know.
