I dont know if this post is trying to kind underplay your teacher more or less complimenting you, I could have said the same since I know alot "tech-addicted" kids that dont know alot basic shortcuts but they feel like get are better than me and shit

@legionfrontier So many people don't know "Ctrl + C" and "Ctrl + v." It hurts my soul to see someone right click, click copy, and then click paste.

Yeah, thus why this !rant reminds me of those smug cunts trying to appeal superior to me just because the age of the internet speeds up shit alot, yeah I still used books to learn back in the day and had to replace capacitors in the motherboards to expand their lifespan cos that stuff was relative expensive

@legionfrontier I'd rather read a book to learn vs reading shit on a computer. My eyes start to get crossed. But a book allows notes to be taken inside the margins, as well as highlighting and underlining.

@jhh2450 while I do read ebooks a lot, there's nothing like having them printed. The only disadvantage can be space and weight, but if you have a dedicated space to read and store your books, they are superior. I only print my ebooks when it's really necessary though. I don't want to be remembered as the guy responsible for killing an entire forest.

@gitcommit I just try to go for "like new" used books. Cheaper and I'm technically kinda recycling lol

@jhh2450 yeah that's the best approach for books I guess. The problem is here it's very difficult to get more specialised books of the areas I'm interested in: history and programming. There are only history books on national history on bookstores and they are very difficult to find used. So I just buy my ebooks in cheap bundles I find online :) The sad part is it will be difficult to fulfill my dream of having my own full fledged library like this :(

This is the worst part, even if they prefer mouse clicks, nobody vwants to take the time to set the prefs on their putty and GIT bash to quick edit mode. Just selct text, and right click at the next prompt. Copied and done. But no, we are developers we won't care about terminals. I've worked with idiots who will use filezilla to transfer files onto their laptops, edit those and re-upload back to linux vms just because they can't handle vi and vim. Come the fuck oooon

I find it hilarious when people watch me work and are utterly confused how I'm doing things without even touching the mouse.

@GodHatesMe That's ok. I mainly use my laptop to type papers for class, and I rarely have my mouse hooked up.

But the people I'm talking about are the ones who are typing and still do the clicking to copy and paste

@GodHatesMe I need it for portability. Sometimes do my homework and shit in my apartment room, apartment living room, cafeteria lounge, library, in class, ect. I do my work whenever I can find time and a place to do so.
