Just fucking start it.

Don't stop before it is done.

Take breaks when needed.

And don't forget to have fun!

    "take breaks when needed"
That usually goes out of hand within the first minutes and lasts several hours or are still not finished for the foreseeable future.

This approach might work for personal to very small scale projects but the courses I'm in atm would have me invest quite some time in planning ahead inatead of just starting to code right away

    "don't be homeless :( buy a house :) live in it <3"
    also
"have you tried not being depressed?"
That's how useful this advice is.

@krystah Good point that not all advice applies to all people at all times. For your examples it would have to be modified to something like, do what you can with what you have in the time you have. The homeless person can just get a house but maybe they can beg a little and someone will be kind enough to get them a meal for the day or find a homeless shelter. They have material conditions which need to be met first before their issues can be solved. And perhaps they could tell their story to everyone they meet and someone would have compassion to take them in and help them stand on their own again...

In our case and I would suspect for most of the people here on devRant you probably have a PC or Mac or phone you can code on have access to materials etc. It's just a matter of time and energy and rationalization for those who need a reason to get started. No reason is necessary in that case those people are holding themselves back (I know) and they can just fucking get started...
