well folks, i've truly seen it all. an impressive an informative post on all there is to know about TypeScript, about time, since it's only 2023 and I've been waiting for this for so long!

...

"note: the syntax" 😂

remember that at the end of the day, this guy is employed, and i am not...

in all seriousness though, it's mind boggling to me these companies that market themselves as software or developer companies (or "professional" developers themselves) STILL aren't building their web apps using TypeScript

inb4 javascript maximalists / purists - come back after you've built and had to maintain multiple 10K LOC webapps and tell me that typescript didn't help you

Not talking about this guy in particular, but I find that most of LinkedIn posts are targeted at newbies, I can't find anything useful these days over there, its same type of posts again and again.

I follow some people that have years of experience in hope that I get to see some complex examples, scenarios or whatever, but now I get the same type of posts that are similar to hello world apps in a new language ...

I come from a C background and really love the safety that comes with strong typing.

Now I'm mostly Python and can't be assed to use type hints... I've tried, but I always give it up.

    I must be getting lazy

@lungdart you can get static type checks without explicit type hints. It’s called type inference!

@gitpush "here's how to write a for loop in javascript!!!"

"loops are useful for iterating over something like an array!"

    Welcome to 2023 :\
