Everybody when a forced update is released: "I hate forced updates!! They can't force me to do shit!!"

Everybody when a massive ransomware attack happens: "You should've updated when the update came out, so you aren't vulnerable!"

If they made the fix for the WannaCry vulnerability forced, the attack wouldn't have been as big as it was.

Confession: I wish they made more forced updates :/

Also, I'll probably get a lot of hate about this...

Depends on what you mean with "forced"....

Forced = install it without my explicit permission.
    -- I disagree with you

Forced = show a lot of boring reminders.
    --I agree with you.

@shelladdicted with forced I mean both: 5-10 reminders (1 per day) and after that, install it without permission.

That way, it's your own fault if it updates while working.

Well if they weren't installing bullshit in their updates, removing features, monetizing features, breaking critical shit, degrading compatibility with some software, spying, and a host of other faggotry, maybe people would trust them enough to automatically update.

That doesn't even include 1. updating at the worst possible time, 2. ignoring your settings on upgrades and disabled telemetry (spying) settings, 3. resetting your update and telemetry settings, 4. not checking their code for bugs and deleting whole folders of data, 5. insert further infuriating dumbshit should-be-punishable-by-death tone-deaf corporate policies and decisions.

It's like all the executives being churned out at the ivy league toilets were literally riders on the shortbus earlier in life and are determined to intentionally wreck their own workplaces and actively alienate customers.
