I keep posting that I need job and I appreciate the feedback but I feel just saying that makes it seem like I'm not trying.

Like. I legit don't know. Could it be my cv that's a dud? Thinking of paying a resume writing thing

Cause I'm actually trying hard af to learn new stuff as well keep doing what I'm good at.

I got one interview in a year and even then they didn't gimme the chance to show tech side. It's soo tilting.

I'm actually competent though inexperienced I think.

Any advice or questions please. I legit need to sort this out this year. Like its very important that I do.

Help.

    @al-m first of all it wouldbe good to know where your located and to know what your skillset looks like.

    P.S. one interview in a year is quite bad.

    @plusgut I know right!?

    Well I was in the UK for the last few years studying now I'm back in Nigeria. Since last year...

    key Skills are html, css, JavaScript mostly. But I'm quite creative/artsy so I'm very design focused. Currently trying to master a couple more frameworks too.

    Prefer front end but I can help out with back too. Node.js. express etc

    Generally good with digital media and creative technologies/software

    @al-m you mentioned that you want to let somebody write your resume. I would discourage you from doing so. These guys have no idea about your knowledge and they will just produce something which sounds nice but has no content.
    What I'm looking for when inviting someone is references. Give them some codeexamples (prefarable a github-account). And write down on what projects you have worked on and describe what you did there.

    This way the hr person most often will redirect your resume to the developer of charge. At least that's what I told my hr guy, when there is code I want to see it and he should never filter such a person.

    @plusgut I have all that.
    Long shot but is it possible you look over my resume and tell me what you think or what you'd like to see and other stuff?
    If you have the time of course

    @plusgut I have a github and a codepen that I try to upload stuff a lot but mostly what I do have is a large collection of designs and elements I make daily so I can have a lot of things to combine in future projects.

    I can imagine nigeria having some big tech companies they are very good that side to a degree but think that in general it would be like here by me in South Africa a smaller town that i stay in so only way I am getting to do web is if either i get my own clients or I work at a signage / design studio and they see the benefit in doing websites proper or dev of sorts then you will get chance to do dev but will find a big focus on print design in general.

    @rc5-asdf oooh. I'll look into that. Was debating buying a domain to do proper portfolio site too.
    I thought you meant upload everything I've made ever to github

    @theScientist man. Nysc is a stupid system haha. It's so unfair. Worst of all
    I was meant to start in May but there was a mistake so I have to register to do it in November...

    I've wasted literally a year in Nigeria haha
