Inigo3307y@JonnyCodewalker Yeah, the vast majority of them are nuked.
But no worries, 52 esr is doing the job fine, and with any luck by April 2018 the new Firefox will actually be something close to usable again. I hope. -
Inigo3307y@JonnyCodewalker A few examples I can't live without: Tab Groups, Tab Groups Helper, VimFx, Highlight Tabs, Multiple Tab Handler, Measure it.... to name a few.
All of them nuked to dust.
...much to the chagrin of some of the developers, I gather. Have a read here: http://fasezero.com/lastnotice.html It does seem that the switch to using WebExtensions, while bringing the benefits of standardisation, will limit what can be done in terms of addon development.
The future of Firefox won't be the ultra customisable beast we once knew. -
techy105127yThwre has been a flag in Firefox nightly for a while called legacyextensions (or something like that) which re-adds compatability. Not sure if its in beta or main release though.

I have used Firefox for web development since forever. The recent major update has absolutely turned my world upsidedown. 95% of my numerous, essential addons no longer working, tab groups vanished, keyboard shortcuts scuppered.
While I appreciate the moves towards speeding it up etc, it's nonetheless a goddam scandal.
I wonder if anyone else is facing similar problems. Any solutions?
