    WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!

    1) why the fuck are you running commands as root. Always use a regular user and sudo if needed.

    2) Always have an alternative method to connect e.g physical via console, remote via wake on lan device, web interface.

    It's the time for web console. 😂

    That shouldn't work, the service is called sshd... Nitpicking, I hope you got back in

    @Chlodovechus 1) so true. 2) true true.

    I woke up on lan indeed. Then I walked into the data center next door and used a console :/

    @Jop- restart ssh

    @epse Depends on OS you're on. If you have to deal with ubuntu it's ssh

    One of the interns has done the same thing with his VNC server... Through a VNC client.

    I did a similar thing with network configuration at one point... took a machine off the network, heh.

    Idk what distros y'all use but usually sshd keeps open connections open (unless closed by the client) even if the service is stopped for this exact reason.
    I just tried this on Debian and nothing broke and I could start ssh flawlessly again.
