    why would anyone do that? I mean why the fuck would somebody make (him/her/it/whatever)self redundant?

    OMG we are doomed, an AI teaching an AI. So finally it's here. It's time to watch terminater again for quick strategy.

    I just find stuff like this to be ridiculous, TBH.

    Like, I have a Google Home. There’s probably 10 things it can do. I can think of like 50 things I’ve asked it to do that it can’t.

    Maybe they should work on making the product they sell work first? I use it 99% of the time to ask it what the weather is because that’s pretty much all it can do and it doesn’t even do that too well.

    And I’m not saying this stuff isn’t cool, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves...

    @dfox lol, that's a good point

    @dontPanic thanks - and btw, the “50 things” I’ve asked it to do are nothing crazy. For example, the other day I asked it “what time is the Yankees game on?” and that was shortly before a very big, nationally televised game. Response - “sorry, I can’t answer things like that yet” or something. Has a looooonnggg way to go.

    @dfox most of those things won't work because they can't understand certain accent. So, for you an assistant may be doing 10 things right but some people are struggling to make those 10 tings to work properly.

    @dfox oh man... On the other hand, I don't think Google home is even available where I live (Poland), so there's that xD

    @dfox That's what I'm wondering too. I mean, it can't detect a bit more complex sentences. Heck, sometimes I get the feeling that you could achieve the same with a lot of If statements or really simple AI.

    Bet they can't develop a machine learning AI that writes bugs like I do 😉

    @dfox A Yankees fan? Oof man 😬😂😂 jk, jk.

    Problem with saying that it's writing is own software is that this software does a discover thing with a very well defined set of answers. It's not going to be making sitting that humans actually use any time soon, at least not that I can see.

    Oh ya?
    Opens up google assistant: play me kiss from a rose by Seal.

    **tutu** here are the search videos for...

    Yeah no fk off. They still have a long way to go before this becomes a possibility. The probably interviewed some overly excited junior dev that said that they hope that bla bla bla and they went with it. I hate this ml bandwaggon bs. As fascinating as it is.

    @lithiex actually some problems Ai are solving today like speech rec, vision, strategy (Go & Atari) are pretty hard to solve by hand.

    Also anybody interested in a botnet framework teaching itself programming have a look at https://lychee.js.org
