This is not sponsored. But.....

After using Wynk Music for a year in 2021,
then using Spotify for a year in 2022,
and now purchasing YouTube Premium in 2023,

I can say YouTube Premium is the best of all three. No ads in videos, background play plus a separate music app. Yeah, it's a better investment imo.

Plus all three cost the same in India.

I get the advantage of ad free YT content but specifically for music, I guess Spotify wins?

Do you get all the music on YT that Spotify has to offer?

@Lensflare I have seen YouTube having more songs than Spotify. Both English and Hindi songs.

There was news about Zee entertainment company having a feud with Spotify so Spotify ended up losing the rights to stream Zee's owned songs.

I haven't seen the equivalent happen on YouTube tho.

not to mention the combination of youtube music revanced and seal gives you everything for free.

(tapping share btn on a ytb music song will make seal download it as mp3(or what u want) with the song cover picture included as thumbnail)

And youtube premium. Well i dont want to be mr. obvious but that will be youtube revanced extended. Sponsorblock, Dislikeapi included, ability to remove shorts btn. What can one want more.

I dont know why you say investment. Youre wasting youre money for the most anti consumer company out there. Just go for the mods lol.

@joewilliams007 It's too much on an inconvenience. Keeping original and modded apps side-by-side then remembering to open the modded one. Ughh..

And the modded one goes invalid/un-usable like every 2-3 months so the constant hassle of keeping it updated.

Better to just pay up as a One Time Payment for a yearly plan then decide next year what to get. Also its really cheap in India. Check image.

@joewilliams007 I call it investment because I'm going to use the shit out of it. I play YouTube videos on my phone when Im working to keep myself entertained.

And then the music app is useful in the gym, connect it to the bluetooth and done.

@SidTheITGuy nah. its not 2-3 months. More like every 6-8 months in my experience. And i have the normal app disabled so it doesnt even show up.

Also its just a better product. Sponsorblock, Dislikes, mp3Downloads, no shorts shit.

If you use the heck out of it, updating it every 6 months shouldnt be a big deal at all but a 3 min job at most.

Sponserblock will save you more time then this. Maybe some hours even? Dont know if you know what sponsorblock does. But if i would have known, i would never choose the normal instead.

@joewilliams007 Okay I hear you. Then I would tell you that this works better for me.

It's not a subscription but rather a one-time payment. So its a lot more convinient for me to just the pay the money and get better features that are actually useful.

I kinda get why these companies are so successful with products and pricings like these.

@SidTheITGuy i agree. Only, It's a worse product though. Bro really doesnt know what sponsorblock is lol. According to my stats it saved me 8hours already. And thats since i last installed it ☺️. Also they are successfull cuz the internet consists of so many noobs 😶. And the pricing. Well dont think they get rich of india. Probably almost only covers the cost there. America/West is where the real milk sits to make Google successfull.

so basically your paying with your time aswell.. not sure what your rate per hour is, but that could add up to a high cost

As a musician, YT Music pays even less than Spotify - which already pays a shameful amount to begin with... I'm not the biggest fan of Apple but Apple Music pays more than double what other streaming services do.

If user experience and all that not really matter to you; please support your favorite musicians by listening to them through Apple Music.

Source: I'm a 100% independent musician and last year earned just under €4000 (before tax) from 1+ million Spotify streams.

@Lucky-Loek I knew it was low, but oof.

@Root all musicians know that the money is bad, but Spotify is borderline insulting indeed haha
