Totally agree, they seemed to lose the whole RPG element, and as a fan of turn based (non 'strategic') JRPGs, I'm left with emulating older games...
-
@CWins if it doubles my audience reach why not?
I might not purchase a Nintendo switch but I would download an app that just needs in-app purchases. -
orto11557y@rizasif92 Consol exclusives sell consoles.
Most people that have consoles will buy more games on that platform.
Because ain't no way in hell I'm spending that much money for one game except for Halo.
If they release their Consol exclusives they loose the only reason people have to buy their honestly weaker consoles.
Which might lose revenue for their less popular titles+console sales.
In general platform >single sale. -
orto11557y@Jop- mobile is kind of a shit show.
You have to admit though that games like league of legends did that eish right .
Minus the damn boxes for hextech skins but that's a negligible percentage.
Its all about implementation. -
orto11557y@Jop- lol yeah there competitive games. Instead of narrative games .The stories basically an after thought.
They hit completely different aesthetics then idk bioshock for example.
I was referring to the business model.
Here's a free awesome game buy our pretty skins if you want . -
@orto @Jop-
It makes sense if someone like Sony to make consoles for TV lounge style gamming. I totally agree and they should stick to that.
However, when it comes to Nintendo, it doesn't makes sense that I carry a GBA or Switch in my brief case.
Pokémon like games are meant to play whenever and wherever you are. If I have to buy a Nintendo console to keep in my bedroom, I would seriously prefer a PlayStation or Xbox instead.
It's intuitive to have a Pokémon game on Android and iOS. Doesn't it makes sense for such a game with reasonable graphics and fun gameplay to be on a device you literally carry everywhere? It would actually enhance the experience with extra benefits like GPS and stuff. They don't have to kill their console. Just put added features in it. -
orto11557y@rizasif92 I agree with you that it would be awesome.
I question the business model though.
People generally refuse to spend 5 dollars on a mobile game.
Emulators are widely available on Android for Pirates. -
@rizasif92 I love my GBA emulator, it works well, responsive on my old phone
-
@calmyourtities used it a while ago. It was crapy as hell. Slow and dain a lot of battery. Will give it another shot though.
-
@orto There are ways to do that. Like make it free and put a price on let's say master balls and stuff.
Give cool unlocks and even better Pokémon for premium accounts.
There are tons of ways to make money, you just need the right mindset.
