@CWins tell me about it. Apparently they did switch to git for a while but the senior (only) Dev at the time didn’t get on with it...
Once I’ve settled in I might start pushing, gently, to switch to something a bit more modern.
However, as we still use VS2010 due to legacy code etc, we’re not really moving with the times too much -
CWins48087yVSS was used in my company when i started but we switched to TeamFoundationServer shortly after that.
I knew and used some... errr...Turtle SVN client before so it wasn't that much worse. Any source control is better than none. (worked for a company where merging code meant everyone brought their usb stick and source control was archives on usb-hdd). Git made source control sexy and tfs is fine for daily use, but you will survive it.
Oh, but i feel sorry for you for using vs2010. What language? -
@CWins C#, but I think they use an old .Net framework.
Luckily I was hired to be an sql developer, so aside from debugging some services etc I will mainly be concerned with lovely reports etc
So started my new job this week (first Dev job after 4 years on various support desks) it’s going ok, but for some inexplicable reason they use visual source safe for version control.
I had to google it, i can’t even install it on Windows 10!
