@dontPanic yeah, you are leaving the world worse place ( with lesser average IQ ) when you die.

I'm reasonable, I can understand someone doing this if they're not familiar with computers.
-
Holy crap, I just had the same happen yesterday in an HTML intro class. I had to try really hard not to laugh (or do as @PrivateGER suggested).
I'd understand my grandma doing this, but this kid was gen Z and grew up with computers. -
You'd be surprised but this happens in real life.
A wk ago, we received an incident ticket saying keyboard doesnt work with our app. We asked the user to try and hit F5 to test. He said nothing happens.
So we went to his desk and ask him to try again in front of us. He pressed 'F' and then '5'. We almost bursted out laughing but, being professional and all, we just politely showed where the key was.
The laughing happened once we were out the door. 😁 -
In all fairness this happened to me when I was introduced to Linux a couple of years ago ..
Friend : okay so you can filter through the output using pipe.. type this : cat /etc/somefile pipe grep someword
You can Imagen what happened next ..
Me: types "cat /etc/somefile pipe grep someword"
This is my darkest secret and if one of you figures out who I am in RL I will blatantly deny this. -
shine9696yThat's why browsers also implemented the <Ctrl>+R shortcut as well.
So, that us highly intellectuals can go around doing our jobs without having to deal with computer n00bs like these.
Teacher: press F5
Student: presses f then 5
Me: dies
