French are indeed terrible with English. If you can't learn French it's going to be complicated. And if you ever take the subway, don't use your nose to breathe 😩

redmyst1697yThank you for the replies. Fortunately, I have learned a bit of French in the past, so the language barrier doesn't scare me as much (but I definitely don't want to use French in any workplace). This is going to sound petty, but which of the two has better internet? I'm sure it won't be my number one factor, but I'm used to having 1Gb/s connections and a huge drop in quality would suck.
-
@redmyst In Paris it really depends we're you go. Fiber obtic is deployed almost everywhere, but old street like mine only got it last year. 1Gb is going to be rare I think, but 100 to 300 is more common. Also... Watch out for renting price, in the city, it's crazy.
-
redmyst1697y@Totchinuko I heard the renting system is a bit odd. You get on a list and the owner chooses you. Something like that :-?
-
@redmyst Yes. It usually is like that, too much people looking for a place. It's not surprising, I get agencies letters in my box almost every day asking if I want to sell my place. In some well prized neighborhoods (not necessarily rich mind you) you can sometimes see line of people in the streets just waiting their turn to check an apartment on the market.
Outer rim of the city are less crazy, but some areas there are quite infamous. -
@redmyst It's hard to get in, but once you're in it's great. But I'm French, don't take that last statement for true. 😅
And I'm more than lucky on the matter, I didn't have to deal with all that bullshit. -
redmyst1697y@Totchinuko right-o :) I'll see how it works out. Shouldn't overthink it after all. Thanks again!
