Advertisements are the vector for almost all malware on the web. They always have been.
They are also designed by amoral thinktanks to exploit weaknesses in the human psyche to extract as much money as possible from people with no concern about the effects that their tactics leave on people.
I refuse to willingly be subjected to such a malicious and hostile act. -
@electrineer No I logged out and keep watching ads free, but sometimes I login to see if they still tracking logged in users...

@ostream which adblocker do you use? I had to press the update filters button a couple times during the autumn, but lately uBlock Origin has won the war to the point I don't have to do anything and it just works.

And when YouTube manages a way to block the video, I click on share button and watch the video in the embed preview!
Yeah! Take that Google! Do you like it?!? If it is in my computer it is mine and I do what I want ✊ -
Sometimes uBlockOrigin doesn’t work well… any suggestion is very welcome maybe in the update or custom rules?
-
@rov3rand0m I had to refresh lists once manually a couple months ago. After that, I've had zero issues.

The YouTube suggestion about deactivating the AdBlocker on my browser on my computer, made me feel as if someone told me to untie my seatbelt while driving or to take off the condom while having sex
