I just fucking hate android studio it takes 15-30 minute just to load on my machine . can't they just make the whole ide available through browser 😞

15-20 minutes? It's time to upgrade from your Pentium 2 m8

i think any computer that takes 15-30 mins to boot android studio probably can't handle someone typing in it. plus it would be so impractical to do it online. you'd most likely have to download the apk every time you built it, which wouldn't work on slow internet connections.

And idk why but at the time it was loading my project . Android studio was using internet continuesly until it completely loaded my new project
Then after that internet usage went down to 0

It loads up in a minute on a skylake pentium, what the fuck kinda bloatware do you have on your pc

It loads in 2 seconds for me on Samsung 960 Evo SSD

I just did a cold start, and it took ~22 seconds to load, display, process some shit and reach zero activity.

Do I have to make a rant about SSDs?

@BindView Well it's not like you can't do anything about that. Swap out your HDD for a small SSD and never look back.

HDDs should only be for archives and storage.

@BindView take a look at the price difference between 60GB and 120GB. In my opinion it's not worth getting just 60. If you get 120, then you can fit your OS and any IDEs out there with no problems. Boot-up time will be 10 seconds, IDE load time will be 2-20 seconds (depends on which one you want to use).

Since using SSDs, every time I see a HDD as a main drive in a computer, I feel genuine disgust. Every time I have to do something on such a computer, I feel my life dripping away uselessly as I wait.

It's not about the actual sequential RW speed actually. The point is in the access time.
For HDDs, it is measured in ms. For SSDs - in microseconds. That's 1000 times faster basically.
Why is that important? Because when your computer is loading something (like an IDE or stuff) it reads a ton of libraries, with tons of entry points. It logs usage data, saving workspace info, etc. It takes time to do that on a HDD, and it's hundreds of times faster with any SSD.

For games probably RW speed is important, since it loads large resource files.

Try Android studio on Linux(on your fav distro) it's faster than windows I have no problem with core2duo and 4gb ram and 500gb HDD PC's
