    You mean wrestling time?

    I just love how chrome synchronizes your bookmarks, history, passwords and pretty much everything on you Google account, so even if it really is faster I don't think I will switch.

    Just my opinion though, I know many people will see this as a disadvantage of chrome

    @MatanRad Firefox does also synchronize, doesn't it ? 🤔
  • 4
    @DataSec I think it does have some sort of synchronization.
    But my Google account is a pretty main hub of a lot of things I use, my docs, files (in drive), email, and so on

    I've been using chrome on my windows and Firefox on my Linux. So I guess I am eligible to comment, I've noticed my Firefox being quite faster than my chrome, though that may be due to Linux, the inbuilt pocket is really useful, and Firefox does really seem a bit faster in browsing. It incorporates almost all the features that chrome does and quite a few more. The only difference I found was chrome was able to open my bittorrent client when clicking on a magnet link, but had to copy it in Firefox. It's just nitpicking at this point. All in all Firefox is good, and it's gonna stay in my Linux for a long time.

    @irene I didn't know that, can you please tell me how ?
  • 1
    @irene nevermind, it's not worth it, it's not like I use it very often.

    Is it sad that I automatically believe anyone who uses their Google account for everything "because it's so convenient" is a bloody idiot? 😧

    Microsoft Edge for the win... 😛

    I will stay OG and use mosaic

    @Ashkin I beg to differ. my bookmarks and history synced across all my Android, desktop and laptop come in handy for me. That of course doesn't make chrome in anyway better
  • 1
    @Ashkin I think people use their Google account too much and they are reluctant to use any other browser
  • 1
    @runfrodorun Yeah people should start seeing the power of other browsers rather than chrome ....
  • 0
    @irene I think it's not a hype
    It's just discussion between devs
  • 1
    @Qaldim but chrome has much better dev tools
  • 0
    @irene I don't think so
  • 1
    Firefox Also has a better interface now .....

    Speed: Yes, totaly
    Mobile browser: No chance
    RAM: Yep
    I love Chrome!
  • 0
    @Mitiko I love both
    But which one to choose is strictly confused ?????
  • 3
    @Vaibhavkumar Edge is not as bad as it looks! I experimented for a week and I gotta admit thete ate some cool shortcuts in there. And the mobile version is great.

    lets be real, you praise ff for being non profit, not for the features it has

    i switched from ff to chrome years ago, and if i get used to ff dev tools again and find my plugins i probably import my bookmarks back to ff where it all started lol
  • 1
    Did anybody actually try ff under the same circumstances they use chrome?

    Like same addons, same size of history, same amount of autofill data, passwords, same state of cache, ...

    Because i honestly want to know if ff got their RAM game settled..:b
  • 1
    @irene well always isn't quite right. Like 7 years ago ff was a monstrosity, RAMwise. Then chrome came and was slick af.
    Now it seems to be ff again being the slick one.

    I thank you.

    "Edge is 75% faster than Firefox Quantum"
  • 1
    @irene absolutely, thats why i asked.

    But it's not like i'm a big fan of switching my default browser just because of a sudden change of trends.😁
  • 2
    @irene I honestly think about switching again now with Quantums sick design and ff dev edition and so on..

    The thing is, if i remember correctly, ff was a bit late with new-ass features, which was a bit shitty, and i didn't really followed the direction they went.
    So pls excuse my biased opinions.😊

    Nothing will ever beat Lynx, thank you.
  • 1
    @irene yeah but chrome comes built in most android devices, reducing my need to download a different browser. so i ended up using it often
  • 0
    @PrivateGER What about chrome then ?
  • 1
    @daintycode Yeah I think u should stuck with ur own unless and until u r facing some huge problems
  • 0
    @explodingkittns What us lynx
    Plzz tell me ....
  • 0
    @irene How can I check the RAM factor and compare it ????
  • 0
    @Tommy314 I think that's the only vulnerable part of Firefox
  • 0
    @Mitiko What about dev tools ????
  • 0
    @irene Which software can be used to check that in Linux ??????
  • 1
    @SuryaK What if Firefox comes pre installed too. ......
  • 1
    Firefox can synchronize everything too. I am using the synchronization few years without a problem. Also now you can send unread pages to your paired device (it is called Firefox Send I think).
  • 0
    @Ashkin Agreed!
  • 0
    @sudoguy So conclude that firefox is better than chrome
  • 0
    @irene 😆. No point is that I'm too lazy to change something that I don't have a problem with

    @JFK422 You seem to be quite indulge in these things ...

    Isn't it so ??
  • 0
    @Vaibhavkumar With the ammount of rants about quantum lately, yes. (Doesnt mean, that I dont like Quantum)
  • 0
    @JFK422 So is it really good
    or
    its just HYPE ....
  • 0
    @DataSec it does, you can enable / disable it
  • 1
    On Gentoo you can do so many optimization on Firefox. Chromium would never be faster :0
  • 0
    @Celes How and what kind of optimisations ??
  • 1
    @irene @born2bdev calm down guys x) It's nothing special. You have the classic compiler optimisation, like march=native or O2 O3.... And you can use system librairies instead of the bundled ones, so that mean optimised ones. After that you still can remove things you don't need, eme , WiFi... And the fun one is pgo, it will compile Firefox, run it and profile it, and then compile it again with the data x)
    Chromium package has nothing customisable T. T

    @Celes OK cool thanks for sharing mate :)
