Also it js very depressing how money would solve even these problems. Insanity wiped. Depression anxiety worries gone. Everything can be bought with money

@b2plane thanks. it’s too late today but I’ll be back on them tomorrow!

I have currently run out of ADHD meds because ADHD and forgetting to request prescription. My caffeine intake has gone from "nothing" to "3 monsters and a couple of litres of coke a day"...

@atheist don’t you love it when adhd makes you forget to take the thing that’s meant to treat it? It’s like it has a mind of its own, keeping you from its silver bullet

@TeachMeCode on the upside, I'm fun when I'm off meds. I'm also complete and utter chaos. But fun chaos!

@atheist only people like us understand fun chaos.

I like ADHD people, they're fun to be around. One of the rare types of people who can keep up with my own autistic brain flow. xD

@atheist do you get really hungry when off? I tend to.

Anyway I’m taking one today. Let’s see how this goes lol

@TeachMeCode not so much really hungry when off, but zero hunger when on. I'm on quick release methylphenidate.

@atheist makes sense. Everyone reacts differently

@TeachMeCode my house lease ends soon, and my impulsive ass wants to pack all my shit into storage and fuck off with my work laptop for a month or two. And I'm currently on the meds...

Hey @TeachMeCoding, I’m new to coding as well. I’m wondering, do most people in the field have to take amphetamines to focus?
Also, what courses are you taking to learn how to code?
  • 1
@fumey nope, most people don’t. And it’s a bad idea to take amphetamines without a script, you need a therapeutic dose so you don’t spiral into addiction. If you suspect adhd you need to see a Dr to get screened.

Courses, not sure. I heard codecademy is good to learn some basics. When you get more advanced beyond for loops learn databases (EXTREMELY important you learn databases and sql), cloud platforms like AWS, and oop/design patterns bc architecture knowledge gets you better roles. Also learn basic javascript , html and css for the frontend without diving for the frameworks first. Unit testing is also extremely important

@TeachMeCode thanks for the advice. I was worried because I read several people on here talking about their need for amphetamines to be operational as coders, and I was wondering if I would have to resort to them as well at some point to "keep up with the pack".

Also, I mistook you for someone new to coding because your username is TeachMeCode. But I gather from your response that you’re not so new to coding 🙂
