I’m tired of you all trying to sell me surveillance as artificial intelligence.

You need to differentiate between products (ChatGPT, etc.) that spy on you and the 'open source' models that power those products.

I can host my own stable diffusion model on my machine without beeing spied on, or download some LLM from hugging face.

People who use spyware like ChatGPT are either not knowing enough to use self hosted models or just like the convenience.

Anyway, with the current trend in AI we are fucked eitherway...

@vane If you see it from that point, I can get behind it. But I believe that most data comes from publicly available information not private, which is still really bad.
