So I am planning to build an ecommerce website for my business, is it sensible to make it from scratch and if not then what existing solutions I can use

Get a ready-to-use ecommerce bundle. Just as a proof of concept, to enable you clarify the market, get feedback n start earlier to upgrade it better sooner. Meanwhile you can build ur custom e-commerce side-by-side from the feedback u got.

Bec u r not just building something, u have to test ur business model as well
