Wow.. back from a two week holiday and feeling absolutely no drive to start work, no motivation to attack anything.

That's the effect of being surrounded by a couple of toxic colleagues for the past 9 months.

You actually got to spend 2 weeks on holiday, so I don't think your workplace is nearly as toxic as mine used to be

toxic stories can be entertaining and / or cathartic

I wonder why our field is like this though. or is every job like this?

I work with a good group of people, but I don't have any drive when I come back from having time off either.

I'm taking time off to not deal with work and to enjoy myself. I'm not spending my personal time getting my head out of relaxed mode and into work mode.

@jestdotty 100% agree. Indian work culture is toxic as fuck.

They can never say no, only say yes in a way that you're supposed to know means no, and then managers make them do it anyway expecting them to work 100h weeks to get something done on minimal resources.

My best advice is to sit in front of your ide bored until you accidently start working

Yeah, rude colleagues can be such a motivation killer to the point where you feel like you wanna ruin shit to make them regret it.

If you have a boss or colleague that does care and you do like: my advice is to bring it up with them 1-5 days after something really bad happens

(Wait 1 day… because you gain some perspective if you sleep on it)
