I have a personal rating system for personalities of people.

On the very bottom of the list, which represents the most disgusting scum, I have those "people":

dictators like hitler
politicians
ad spammers
scammers

I never fell for a scam myself but I just can’t comprehend how someone can do it the whole day. You must be a very fucked up piece of shit to do such a thing.

The sad thing is that there are so many of them. This makes me lose hope for humanity.

"I never fell for a scam myself" - yeah. keep telling that to yourself.

"how someone can do it the whole day" - it's relatively easy work for a relatively high payout, because the average person is relatively dumb.

"This makes me lose hope for humanity" - that's genuinely the best thing to do. hope is poison.

Imagine scamming millions of people every day. I present the Associated Press. The scummiest salesmen in existence.

    > "I never fell for a scam myself" - yeah. keep telling that to yourself.

What? Do you think that I fell for it without knowing? How would that even work?

I’m getting phone calls from scammers for 4 years regularly.
And I see the scam attempts here on devrant regularly. That’s where my disgust for those "people" comes from.

Of course I understand the appeal from a pure cold (rational?) point of view.
I just can’t comprehend how so many people can have this morality and lack of conscience.

We are supposed to be a social species. But scammers are like the parasites of the society, not part of it. So for me, they are not really humans.

@Lensflare what else you have left after dictators and politicians then?

@Lensflare "Do you think that I fell for it without knowing?" - ALL people who fall for a scam did, by definition, not know it was a scam.

that's kinda the core principle. i don't see how it could work any other way.

"i just can't comprehend how so many people can have this morality and lack of conscience" - people = shit. it's simple as that. there is absolutely nothing more to it.

"we are supposed to be a social species" - being a parasite on society is also social behavior. it's not "good" behavior, in our ideal moral view, and it's not beneficial for society, but it's beneficial for the individual (up to the point where the system collapses).

"so for me, they are not really humans" - and that's where you out yourself as another proof of "people = shit". even the most garbage awful member of "homo sapiens" is still a homo sapiens, and denying the label "human" to a human being is a very slippery slope that, throughout our history, did more bad than scammers ever could.

Yes, of course. But they know afterwards.

When I deny the label "human", I don‘t imply that they should be killed or something, like you have implied by mentioning the history of genocide, (I suppose).
People who would see it like that (not humans so genocide) are also on my list of human scum.

I still believe in the good of people. At least some of the people. And I don‘t subscribe to your philosophy of "All people are bad. Get used to it"

@Lensflare "But they know afterwards." - only some.

also: kinda by definition: if you deny them the label "human", you deny them "human rights". you know... the rights every human being has.

also: i didn't say "people = bad". i said "people = shit". shit can be useful.

and please, show me one singular human being that hasn't, at some point in their life, been shitty.

and the total percentage of shittyness doesn't matter. after all, you wouldn't eat a bowl of cereal if you know it contained a percentage of shit larger than zero, even _if_ the number is very small.

@tosensei I wouldn‘t label a person as shit if they did something shitty just once. That would be a useless label.
    Nobody is perfect.
Obviously that person needs to be doing it all the time. It must be part of the personality, part of their normal behavior.

@tosensei let’s not get caught up on definitions of what it means to be human or something. That wasn’t my point at all.
All I wanted to say is that they don’t deserve to be treated with the same respect that I would grant to a normal person.

you can remove politicians because you already have scammers. All of them are scammers anyway

@jestdotty "objective reality" is also just a made up term.

but: for _any_ given definition of shitty, _every_ person fulfils it at least partially.
  • 1
@tosensei so you’re a pedophile, at least partially?
  • 0
    @kiki no more than you.
  • 0
    @jestdotty so are we all.

but hitler was a vegan, and you're obviously not.

of course you want more innocent animals to die.

he also did a lot of meth.

so obviously meth makes you a vegan, and veganism makes you a good person.

you should be a vegan and do meth.

the state of argument on the internet.

but tongue-in-cheek aside, you'll get the scammers you deserve until you learn what pitch forks and torches are for.

I don't know if burning down an indian scam call center counts as restorative justice against scammers, but it does count as 15 or 20 racisms (depending on the current currency conversion rates) in the modern economy though, so don't quote me.

If after you do, you donate 5 carbon credits to the panda preservation center, it should doubleplus boost your social credit score by 25 basis points though, so it all balances out.

just be sure you renew your amazon prime b4 you do, otherwise you don't get the membership-only points, and you may lose your job for failure to renew.
