Demolishun34913114dIs it Windows Defender? You can place exceptions for directories. It looks for activity on your file system and scans places where stuff is changing. So excepting compilation/modification artifact work directories can help.

Lensflare17141113d@tosensei that’s why I said "or” ;)
No matter how powerful the Windows PC, you still have a Windows PC, which sucks for work. -
retoor12010113d@Lensflare even when you give a monkey a ring, it stays an ugly thing. Windows is helpless whatever you do about it

tosensei8411113d@Lensflare "which sucks for work" - not as much as fisherprice-os. unless you're just doing "Something With Media" :tm:
when linux is not an option for $whateverReasons, windows still is the slightly lesser evil. -
Lensflare17141113d@tosensei in terms of development, mac is like linux. Both are UNIX based and have a great command line, a non retarded file system, a non retarded rights/permission system, etc.
Just because the mac UI is pretty, doesn’t mean it’s bad.
Being a developer you spend most of your time being in the command line and the IDE anyway.
I’ve been in 3 different companies and most of the devs have preferred working with a mac rather than Windows. -
tosensei8411113d@Lensflare you know, you can install bash AND ext4-drivers on windows, too.
also: never ever did i say or imply that the mac UI is pretty. it ain't. it's closer to the opposite. AND it's bad.
Fuck antiviruses making your PC so slow that you cannot work. Need to find a way to disable it, fuck security guidelines.
