Been playing a lot of old NES games lately.
Made me think how did they develop and program such amazing games with primitive 80'-90's technologies, assembly/c and no internet.

Now with all the tech we have most games are crap and based on webshit or mobile.

Not to mention the bullshit IAP/MTX direction games have taken in recent years.

But yeah, imagine the talent that produced Mega Man 2 or The Legend of Zelda. Staggering.

All that shitty games as a service, micro transactions, lootbox, online, social whatever crap is so loud and dominant, that it seems like all games are like that.

They are not. Ignore all games like that, and there are still enough to fill all available time.

I loved the games of the 80’s / 90’s super mario, wonderboy, stunt car racer, buggy boy, sensible world of soccer

All so playable and created by people who didn’t have access to the internet I miss those days. When I started out programming commercially the company I worked at didn’t have an internet connection (1998) I learned everything from books and trial and error.
