ars14080110dFrom what I’ve read this is how a company fires people without having to do severance pay.

Lensflare17458110dI have relocated during the pandemic and if I had to go back to the office, I'd have a big problem.
I know many colleagues which are in the same situation. -
wojtek3221137110d@ars1 I think this is not the case. This company is too small & struggles to hire people (and have them stay)
Also, I doubt the C-level can come up with this plan -
asgs11275110dWhat criteria do they have to determine the exemption? I hope they have circulated a survey or something to understand your preferences, and constraints already l

Lensflare17458110d@electrineer yeah, instead of sitting in the office in a circle and singing kumbaya

asgs11275110d@electrineer I wouldn't be so sure. I believe the ones exempted are the ones who threaten to quit and the ones who got good connections with their superiors

Sales & technicians are both excluded since they have to go to the customers. And people living more than an 60 min away are exempt.
So as a result, 3 people from the DevOps team (2 on Mondays) out of the 11 have to go to the office. I'm a front-end dev and the remaining of my team that I work closely with is more than 2000km away

Today is the first day that we have to go back to the office and more than half of the company is exempt from that rule
