Any Bose QC-XX is my answer to noise-related discomfort. Just turn on noise-cancelation and put a bit of sound, you will only barey hear kids screaming next to your ears on a train.

Also, contrary to cheap headphones, they do not leak sound, so you are being good-mannered as well.
