cursee165987ySure. But then if I were the one doing simulation, I would not care for my subjects from the beginning. I'll just see them as lab rats. All I want will be the progress and outcome. If all my subjects die, they die. If I feel like it, I will create next simulations with improvements. 🤔
Let's just hope our curators didn't use their real logics and feelings while coding me. 😛 -
Root797347y@CurseMeSlowly This is how I would act as well.
However, everything has just seemed more and more fake and cliche in recent years. I'd say contrived, but that insinuates creativity/originality, of which there appears to be very little. -
cursee165987y@Nanos don't think we can. I imagine this two scenarios.
1) The best simulation done by the best beings : well if there were that best and perfect, how can the simulated craps can know they are in simulation?
2) The sloppy simulation done by wk87 beings : well the simulated ones are worse than craps now. Even if the creators shoved the source code to their simulated subjects' arse, they wouldn't know.
The only exception I can guess is if the creators intentionally allow the simulated beings to learn it. -
typedeph2367yWelcome to prototyped first draft code bases with curators who leave no unit tests or documentation.

Even if this is a simulation it must be based on some reality. A system is needed to support the simulation.
Even if there are multiple layers of simulations in the end there must be an underlying reality to it all.
So somewhere along the way no matter how many layers of abstraction deep we are, we are a part of the Real. -
Run the unit tests. Stab a guy. Most of the time he will bleed blood, but due to an as of yet unexploited glitch sometimes he will bleed root beer. They do have the same chances of dying or being seriously injured though. As a matter of fact, please don't do this.

iAmNaN68457yThe Dev went to lunch, and left the simulation code running in test mode. Unfortunately, as he was taking his first bite, the restaurant was demolished by a Vogon construction crew. Of course, this was all part of the simulation, and had the Dev done a code review before going to lunch, he would have spotted the bug, and avoided the catastrophe.
I'm getting increasingly convinced the world is a simulation and its curators have simply stopped caring.
