Okay here's my weekend project
I'll create a Windows 11 virtual machine that will boot, then a macro will run that installs Chrome while closing every intervening Edge popup on its way. After the last popup is closed, the VM is reset to the pre-macro state.
I'll let Windows experience the eternity of me denying its unethical attempts to keep me from using Chrome. And I bet you I'll let it phone home every time.

    Haha amazing project. With what did you build the macro?

    Macro application was built into windows long ago. Now not anymore afaik.

    I'm chrome user too, like 62% on earth. The rest is edge and just a few Firefox.

    I stept over to chrome once because it was the lightest browser, I have no idea if that's still the case but my laptop handles it easy.

    Also tried ladybird but it's javascript is too slow to even use YouTube.

    On top, I love the Google services. I have everything synchronized.

    At this point, with edge being chromium too, functionally they are the same, so I no longer know which one is worse in terms of spyware. Google ain't exactly a saint in that aspect either.

    @CoreFusionX I know. I just want Edge to complain and try to stop me. It doesn't do it when you install Firefox

    In any case, let's see how edge handles the whole V3 manifesto thing.

    They could win over a lot of users just based on that.

    "With the added trust of Microsoft"

    I wonder how many users actually decide to use Edge because of this little text.

    @Lensflare the number is negative

    So edgy ;-)

    Everytime I run updates on Windows 10 I always send feedback to MS stating how I don't fucking want Windows 11.

    @Demolishun that only incentivizes MS to annoy you more aggressively :)
