I am so sick of a senior developer that has no idea how to be a manager. I've been a manager before and it is not that hard. I came into this job thinking that it was going to be a fresh start, but instead all the haunting projects from incompetent developers that worked before me followed me to this team as well... (we are in the same company, just different teams) My boss thinks I'm an "expert" in everything, and everyone else on the team has no idea what is going on. I have to spend all of my time babysitting every other developer, and I don't get any coding done myself, yet I'm still expected to make my deadlines.

I need a new gig so bad I'm sick. The stress level is getting pretty bad. I've already had cancer once. I don't want to go through it again... Plz hlp

    Thanks for the reply!

Hers the thing about my vacation time... I can't really take a short vacation. I dealt with this last year as well... I had cancer back in 2014 so I have to go and take lots of days off for several doctors appointments throughout the year to MD Anderson. Also my daughter is special needs and has a similar situation with the doctor's appointments. So I never know what is going to happen so all of my vacation time is usually used for doctor visits.

That's why I feel that a remote job would suit me best, because then at least I'd be able to work from the hospital if need be... I keep trying to land one but it's so hard it seems like... Or maybe I'm not experienced enough? Who knows... But I'm going to keep at it. I really think I can get one to work out sooner or later. @psone

Thanks @CWins I'm trying to keep my head up. I don't think that this would be a problem if the company owners understood software development... They are the classic, if we put pressure on them maybe they'll work harder sort of people. They are salesmen, and think that the software developers are a wasted of money. Yet we have over 30 in house developers. And it's the only place that hires software developers around where I live...

So I'm just gonna keep going. I know I'll have an opportunity later on when the time is right. I just have to keep trying.
