Want to give Google a giant "fuck you" to their AI results?

I now have a custom google search that Firefox defaults to. It looks like I don't get AI results on first try. YMMV

I see people complaining about this, but as a Dutchy using Chromium on Xubuntu, i do not get AI google at all. Never seen before. I even searched what you searched. Searchii huh?

Haha, i was with a friend once and we got a nail in his tire. We had the tools but were worried so we called some company to fix it. Guys these days, what the fuck :D

Honestly, Id rather leave it on and ignore it. That was it costs them money and cpu time even though it doesn't drive any more interest or clicks. And if this is the default experience they want then so be it. I got pretty good at ignoring AI slop these days.

Have you noticed there's an AI summary below YouTube videos now too? Running these models is gonna cost them a lot and It's not going to be doing anything for anyone :)

@Hazarth exactly, let them spend the money for nothing. I even click on ads of companies i don't like to screw them for a cent.

@retoor yep, that's why I use AdNauseam. It blocks ads while also covertly clicking on them to waste the money

It could be perception, but the searches seem a lot faster this way.

Never seen those AI results on my Google searches either. Linux + Qutebrowser or Firefox. If I want them, I need to open Google Gemini. Maybe it's per country?

@Demolishun It probably isn't perception. It wouldn't be unheard of for a server to wait for another process before serving the response (or part of it). If modifying the variable skips the process… et voilà — faster.
