How about connecting your laptop via an Ethernet cable and then installing any drivers that you require?
-
@rehman i had that problem on my laptop. In my case apt printed the url of the file it couldn't get. I downloaded two files via pc, took the rest from cache and got it working again
-
@rehman oh ok, either you can do that or you can search what all packages are required by your laptop, download them and then dpkg them
It also depends on the distro you're using, so search accordingly -
njedwards797yAre the drivers actually not installed? Or just being blocked?
Try blacklisting acer_wmi
sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
Add to eof:
blacklist acer_wmi -

blem1410637yFirst of all why the hell linux distros does not have wifi package included in it's iso? I was like wtf when decided to install Debian on my laptop. So if you have no other pc and no possibility to connect via Ethernet you are screwed up big time.
