FUNNY

Yesterday i was watching the intro videos of Visual Studio Code.

Was interesting to see a Microsoft licensed product using YouTube (Google) and macs (Apple) for demonstrations. Maybe Microsoft learned something about not ignore competitors hahaha

Maybe weird to use an apple product, since they have their own computers, but what other options would they have other than YouTube?

@j4cobgarby maybe host the videos directly in their servers

Microsoft even caved and ported Bash over. Now you “PC master race” snobs hating on macOS and Linux can understand what a command line interface is.

Welcome to 2010? Nothing revolutionary here... They've been using open source and competitors for almost a decade now.

MS Azure offers Linux machines, MySQL databases and supports pretty much any language.

VSTS has had git support for many years now... MS switched the whole Windows code base to git last year.

They develop launchers and other apps for Android.

.NET core was ported to Linux and Mac, is now open source. SQL server is now available on Linux.

Windows 10 has a native Linux subsystem and a bash command line.

    And the list goes on...

@NGPixel great! I think is a good strategic decision, I suppose was a lesson they learned after many fails like Zune, windows vista, etc... Is interesting also that changes come after Bill quit as CEO and start to work on the foundation

@NGPixel I think they don't have to reinvent the wheel if the competitors have great wheels... They are trying to compete on blue oceans now!
