If you think you know the most idiot person in the world, you haven't met my brother.

His brain absolutely can't comprehend anything!

He forgot his Roblox password and told me to do something. I said I can't do anything about it. Then he yelled at the top of his lungs saying, "you don't know technology! You're too stupid and selfish. Fix it!"

I said I can't do anything about it. He throws the mouse at me and says, "I never get to have fun. You ruin my life!"

He's not a little kid btw. He's fucking 14.

Today my mom forgot to pay the wifi password, and she thinks its better not to pay it today so it can stop my brother from playing games. (He plays it from morning to night. No homework, no cleaning, no nothing. Just games all day.)

So he told me to fix it. I said I cant. There's nothing I can do. Then he punches my arm really hard. (He's taller and stronger than me so it really hurt) then he threw a shoe and said, "you're useless and stupid! You have your laptop so you can have fun but I never get to have fun. You ruin my life, and I hate you. I hate my life."

Then he ran to mess up my room by tossing things from the self, removing clothes from my closet, and messed up my bed. He pushed my sister, pulled my hair, and ran to his room, slamming the door.

Please. Please someone give him a brain! He desperately needs one. I said I can't fix it, and that my mom has to pay the WiFi bill, but he thinks I'm being mean.

He has the mind of a 5 year old. Dropping to the ground crying.

    There's like 3 years of difference between both of you.
    Tf is wrong with him
  • 55
    This sounds like a serious case of addiction. I'm no expert but maybe you (or more like your brother) should be getting some help from one. Anyways good luck on handling this situation!
  • 27
    Is your brother eric cartman? That idiot doesn't need a brain, he needs manners and self-control.
  • 18
    First, are you ok?

    Why don't you talk to your mom about him? There have to be boundaries, like opening my closet and what not!
  • 18
    um... I won't buy your brother, I already have one and he is quite annoying but fortunately not anywhere nearly as much as yours seems to be but I can send you a virtual hug, do you want a virtual hug?

    =====
    [ HUG ] <--- package containing virtual hug

  • 15
    No pointing fingers here, but i think that guy needs some restrictions from the parents. Video games is a difficult topic, but there's NO excuse for being a big asshole.
  • 3
    We all know what will i suggest, dont we
  • 22
    @D3add3d please encrypt your hug, or do you want to end up hugging a nsa-employee instead?
  • 6
    @YouAreAPIRate Maybe they need one too
  • 9
    @yendenikhil
    I'm fine, thanks for asking.
    I cant burden my mom with it. She has work and her own stuff to deal with. I'm the eldest so the house stuff and siblings are my responsibility.
  • 7
    @D3add3d
    Thank you. :)

    How about I pay you? Will you take him?
  • 4
    @cachoputa you're right. They are the ones who have to go through my internet history. No ones leaves that job scarred, or how would you feel after watching hentai kamen 1 & 2?
  • 3
    @Condor
    Of course there is... But I won't go there haha.

    It's not just roblox it's all games in general.
  • 8
    @Michelle pro tip: don't pay to get your brother adopted, let him work for what you would have payed
  • 3
    @Michelle in that case you need to (with permissions from parents) get some authority to make children behave, He is minor, and v after seeing so many sibling examples, I have seen fun relationships turn sour. Also, if possible, keep your room locked, knocking is great policy, even though you all live under same roof.
  • 6
    @YouAreAPIRate
    Ah, clever idea. :)

    Too bad he's incompetent. I made him wash the dishes once and it was still dirty, and he managed to break a few.
  • 3
    @YouAreAPIRate I would but the Keybase android app can't do anything except the encrypted chat for now :-/
    ...and I don't have Michelle's public key
  • 3
    @yendenikhil
    I thought you were talking about the police until I reread it. I'll try.

    I can't lock my door. I can hardly close it. It pops open after my parents took it away in middle school, but gave it back when I started high school. Now it's kind of useless.
  • 5
    @Michelle sounds like my father. My mother made him iron the laundry, he did it so badly he never had to do it again
  • 2
    @YouAreAPIRate
    Oh gosh, I can see how that would end up. :/
  • 2
    @D3add3d we need a "private key"-section in the devrant profile
  • 6
    @Michelle my father seemed to know nothing about laundry (dunno about today). My mother likes to tell the story about how he came from the basement and asked why they had two washing machines. The other one was a dryer ^^"
  • 1
    @Michelle no thanks 😅 I try to avoid having kids around me (and brainless kids especially) because I get annoyed quite quickly and would probably punch him in the face so hard he would need an ambulance
  • 3
    I think the Wizard of Oz may have a a spare brain but I think the scarecrow deserves it more
  • 5
    @YouAreAPIRate
    Lol, I'm sorry, but I just died laughing. "Two washing machines," that sounds like someone my brother would say, but fortunately he knows the difference.
  • 3
    @D3add3d
    Oh... In that case never mind lol. I love kids a lot. (Don't say it. I know, I'm still a kid, but don't you dare.)
    I love being around them, and I tend to be more patient with them. Kids older than 13 I absolutely can't stand. Sometimes I want to kick my brother in the stomach, and I really want to blind my classmates.

    I love taking care of anyone younger than 13, but if they're older, I'll hate it.
  • 6
    @YouAreAPIRate wait... private key? Like you mean, you paste your key there and it decrypts messages that were encrypted using your public key? I am not sure if I like that idea I would prefer just a field in the profile for public key and you would decrypt stuff using whatever you use normally, keeping your private key safely in its keystore file
  • 1
    @Michelle you can deal with my sisters for me :P
    They're young and nice, but dealing withthem can be exhausting ^^'
  • 1
    @D3add3d no, the public key will only be displayed, the app never uses it. Using it for every message would be too much of a hassle for no security
  • 3
    @YouAreAPIRate
    I don't have to tell anyone lol. They already read it.

    I can probably handle your sisters. Mine is 7 and she's the bossiest and laziest thing ever. I have to scratch her and give her the remote which is 2 inches away. If I can handle her, I can handle them.
  • 2
    @Michelle ok, my sisters are nothing compared to that. But in the end i prefer a quiet room with a laptop and wifi
  • 3
    @Michelle no, you are not a kid (I commented on your other rant where you reposted a photo of you that if you were not so far away I would totally want to date you so try to guess my age :D )
    and of course I won't harm kids that are younger than let's say 13 years old and if they behave I have no problem with them, I have small cousins and I often play with them and take care of them sometimes but they know I don't like it when they are annoying so they behave themselves (and I would never harm girls of any age - just to make that clear)
  • 4
    @D3add3d
    Oh, I remember someone said something like that, but I didn't really see who said it lol.

    Thanks btw. No one takes me seriously because they keep calling me "a kid." They said I'll always be a little kid in their eyes until I turn 20, which is really annoying. You're one of the few people who said I'm not a kid. :)
  • 2
    @fuzzy-logic
    I don't want to hurt him though. He's disrespectful, but he's still my little brother.
  • 3
    @fuzzy-logic
    Ohh, I see. I guess I should really stop being a doormat when it comes to him. He even knows that I'll start crying if I can't control him, and that's pretty much my fault.

    Thank you. I'll try to defend my sister and myself from him.
  • 4
    @Michelle i'm 20* and for my mother i'm still her son ^^". For some people you will always be a kid, no matter how mature you are

    *or older, i keep that a secret
  • 3
    @Michelle you can also ask your mother to tell your brother to listen to you. You said she is very busy and you dont want to bother her, but it's a good start to make him show you some respect
  • 4
    @YouAreAPIRate
    I guess so. That's really frustrating. If someone asks me for help, I'll say, "I can't help. I'm just a kid."

    I'm not petty or nothing just annoyed lol.
  • 4
    @YouAreAPIRate
    The thing is, she won't do anything about it. She'll say, "Go ahead and kill each other than."

    That's how tired she gets.
  • 1
    @Michelle where I live, people stop calling you a kid when you turn 18 but I won't call anyone who is 16 or older a kid because they are not, sometimes even 14 year olds are no longer kids(applies mostly to girls because they mature mentally quicker than boys), when my cousin was 14 I did not call her a kid once, because she simply wasn't, a kid is only someone who behaves like a kid and is younger than 16 imho
  • 1
    Just create a new account and say "because I changed the password, your saves (or profile or whatever there is) are gone but you can play now. There was no other way". I think this should work. Also isn't there a forgot my password link?
  • 1
    @D3add3d i like to say "once boys are 14 their body is the only thing that continues to mature", meaning they'll stay a kid mentally. Thinking about the jokes i sometimes tell i'd say thats true. And im happy with that :P
  • 2
    @YouAreAPIRate well... it depends on one's intelligence and the environment they grew up in
  • 5
    @D3add3d
    Wow reasonable adults actually exist. Thanks. :D
  • 1
  • 1
    @Michelle doesn't roblox have accounts? I'm just saying you should create a new account and make him believe his profile/savegames/whatever is resetted but he can play and there was no other way you could have done it. Just fool him I mean.
  • 1
    @FurkanKambay
    Ohhh, I see. He's an idiot, but he's not that stupid lol. He'll know.
  • 3
    @FurkanKambay oh, that reminds me of the time i wanted to get revenge on my roommate. I never executed it but i liked the idea. I'd ettercap his pc and use the iptables-limit-module to throttle his connection speed, creating lags and bad connections.
  • 2
    @YouAreAPIRate and i tried to use the game servers api to detect him playing the game. If his connection is only bad when he plays the game he'd suspect the game
  • 4
    @Michelle what's your pgp key (so I can send you an encrypted hug)
  • 3
    @ewpratten this guy gets it
  • 5
    Team up with your sister and kick him in the mouth.
  • 1
  • 8
    @azous
    She's sitting next to me right now, and I told her what you said. She got all excited and said "Yeah! Let's do it!" Lol. :)
  • 1
    No offence but reminds me of Cruz(search on google)....
    BTW which country?
  • 1
    @VTCoder
    The US.
  • 3
    I’m sorry, but does your mom know he hit you? Because at 14yo that kind of behavior towards a girl is completely unacceptable.

    Left unchecked, it could potentially escalate.
  • 2
    @Michelle She is the parent, not your fucking offspring, not your responsibility. She needs to be a parent and sort this fucker out, or seek help in doing so. In the meantime get a lock.
  • 2
    14 years old.
    Roblox.
    I repeat:
    14 years old. Roblox. Why.
  • 1
    do you know where the soral plexus is? its about 2cm below the convergence point of your chestcage. take two fingers and puncture it. not too hard though
  • 2
    @IrreleventIdiot
    He's not the type to hit girls other than me and my sister. As a matter of fact, he doesn't even go near girls. But when he was 12, he did hit his male friend who came over tho.
  • 1
    @helloworld
    I know she's suppose to do it, but she gave birth to me for a reason. That reason was to take care of my siblings and the house. I've pretty much been doing this since I was 7, so at this point, it's expected of me. :/
  • 1
    @gnulinuxer4fun
    Oh my gosh, pressure points are scary. Will it kill him??
  • 3
    @Michelle
    Hitting you and your sister is enough cause for concern in my book!
  • 0
    That is unacceptable behaviour. And he probably believes what he says. I know because I too behaved similarly when I was much younger. My dad set me alright. I'd say maybe cut him off and don't talk to him, don't do anything for him. Just let him do his own shit.
  • 1
    @IrreleventIdiot
    Oh wow. I just realized you're new.
    Welcome to devRant! :)
  • 2
    Follow bender
  • 2
    @Michelle the reason of your birth, that's not cool, and if you think like that..... That's even worse. YOU decide the purpose of your existence, none else, don't let anyone tell otherwise.
  • 3
    @Michelle
    yup, actually created an account a few days ago

    been lurking a for a little while.
  • 1
    @IrreleventIdiot welcome, go make avatar.
  • 2
    @yendenikhil can’t just yet. I’ll get to it once I can! :)
  • 2
    @marcus5914
    I actually did hit him before, but I hit him on his back, and he had a mark there when he was little, so he screamed at the top of his lungs crying.

    I felt guilty afterwards and promised myself I would never lay a hand upon him. If I do get the urge to hit him, I'll bang my head against the wall until it passes.

    If I do it to hard, it might be considered child abuse. :/
  • 2
    @Michelle No no no!!! She chose to have children not you. It really is not your responsibility to bring up her children. She has manipulated you into believing this, she didn’t have you for a reason to bring up her children. when you have kids of your own DO not brainwash them into believing this is there responsibility.
  • 3
    @helloworld
    Oh shoot.. Now that you mentioned it, I guess I really have been brainwashed by the adults. I mean, I've been hearing these things since I was 7 amd actually believed my purpose of life was taking care of the kids, doing things for my parents, and cleaning the house.
  • 3
    This sounds weird but I read the first 2 lines and I knew it was your rant 😆
    Back to topic
    Yeah I really thinks he is game addicted
    And in USA it's a serious addiction
    I read so many articles on that !
    You guys really have to do something
    But nothing works if he himself doesn't understand that he is addicted and have to rewire his brain by taking brake from games.
  • 1
    @Thewebdev @Michelle why don't you make him a programmer too?
    Arouse in him love for coding... And all.
    Or could you tell his other interests?
  • 1
    @Michelle your reply to @marcus5914 is really sad.
    Sometimes you need to prove your parents wrong.
  • 1
    @IrreleventIdiot now you may make your avatar
  • 1
    @VTCoder I think somebody already suggested that in another rant, it did not help with his behavior too much probably
  • 1
    @D3add3d I'm sorry
  • 1
    It doesn't sound like your brother is necessarily an idiot (although he may very well be). He's just spoiled af.

    > He plays it from morning to night. No homework, no cleaning, no nothing. Just games all day.

    But why do your parents even allow that? I remember when I was little (a lot smaller then he was) my parents only allowed me to play on the computer for 3 hours a day, and only on weekends. I only got to use it more once I was responsible to moderate my time spent playing games, and they only bought me a laptop once they were convinced I'd use it for something other then gaming.

    Point is, freedom comes with responsibility. If you are going to let your child use a computer, you need to make sure he will be responsible in using it.

    As for his wanting you to reset his Roblox password a) that's a case of him being technologically illiterate, not necessarily an idiot and b) technically, you could have helped him recover it (but that's besides the point).
  • 2
    @VTCoder no need to be sorry, I am just saving Michelle's time by telling you that someone already suggested it in another rant because I can see you are quite new here judging by your ++ count
  • 2
    @Michelle Doing chores and helping is different to setting boundaries and parenting skills, don’t take the piss.
  • 2
    Kill your brother.

    Ok, maybe this isn't the best solution. But it's fastest one.
  • 4
    @Brugui read the comments, she does not want to hurt him
  • 2
    That's exactly my brother too. And mine's also 14... Are you, are you my sis?
  • 1
    > private/public key confusion

    @YouAreAPIRate yea but you said private key :-D that's why I was confused
  • 2
    @RAZERZ her bro is 14 yo too
  • 1
    @VTCoder um... yea, that's what he said..
  • 1
    @D3add3d 🤦 seems I'm facing some serious problem now.
  • 2
    There might still be hope, my uncle was a pita to my mom so I heard when they were kids, but after grown up, when my mom was in her down moment he went out of his way to be protective to his sisters, and also a great uncle to us second generations.
  • 2
    @Michelle well ig i can teach you about pressure points:

    The solar plexus is where all the belly muscles meet, afaik its key in transmitting blood. If you hit it lightly it hurts horribly. if you hit it too much he might fall in coma or die.

    The nerves that transmit blood to your head are very sensitive. give im a hard blow and hes in coma

    the hole between your ear is where your jaw and crane meet, it is basically a lot of unprotected muscles. press it and rub it around and the muscles will hurt.

    The kneecap is protecting many muscles. but they arent protected from behind.

    should be about it, dont kill your breath plis
  • 1
    That kid deserves a bitchslap.
  • 1
    Seriously sounds like extreme addiction.

    Maybe he should get taken away his games and get this resolved.
  • 3
    @gnulinuxer4fun
    Thanks, but I'm not experienced enough to do that lol. The last thing I want to do is kill him. Mainly because it'll be difficult to hide.
  • 1
    @Michelle someone here should have their own swamp if you need! 😉😉
  • 3
    @yendenikhil
    That'd be perfect. Then I can solve my problems easily if someone annoys me. ;)
  • 2
    @SoulSkrix
    If you want him to hide, it's too late. He's in front of me rn. We're in the car lol.
  • 3
    Next time, instead of tell him you can't do anything, say you will not do it. Tell him that if he need help, he need to do some favour. Make him your bitch. He needs to learn that in this world, nothing is free. Not even sister help.
  • 2
    @marcus5914
    It seems kind of harsh, but I guess you're right. I've tried bossing him around but gave up. I'll try again, instead of being a doormat.
  • 1
    @Michelle I agree with @marcus5914. This will be important life lesson for him, you will do favor on him by teaching him this.
  • 1
    @Michelle as long as you hit it just lightly, nothing happens. also, when he attacks you first, you may legally protect yourself and kill him. but pay attention: the moral implications are worse than the legal ones
  • 2
    @gnulinuxer4fun
    Gosh, I don't want to kill my brother. If it was my neighbors, maybe, but my brother? Hello no.
  • 3
    @Michelle even neighbor has huge boral consequences.
    i can advise you this:

    your forearm is nearly invulnerable, while his liver is. punch him in the liver, he has huge pain but nothing happens
  • 1
    I pitty you :(
  • 3
    @tildee
    Please don't.
  • 1
    @tildee no self respecting person likes pity!
  • 2
  • 2
    Considering a few things.... Is he alright mentally? I'm serious... This seems like a sign of some mental illness... Addiction mentioned but what about other things? Jesus.
  • 2
    @demortes
    He has ADHD.
  • 2
    @Michelle many have adhd. I think there's something else going on there. But what do I know. I don't have a degree in human bugs.
  • 2
    Sorry but idiots are the one who are letting him behave like that
  • 1
    @duckduckgo Essentially, her parents.
  • 3
    A piece of advice from someone who tought that taking care of my younger sister, the grocery and so on was my duty as the older brother. Its not. You can help your mom but not replace her as the figure who educate her children.

    Nobody is going to give you back your time, time that you should be spending to preparare for you future.
  • 1
    Trying to diagnose possible reasons for his behavior is difficult for a doctor let alone a regular IT person.

    @ArcaneEye I've got people with the whole ADD, ADHD, Autism, Asperger spectrum in my family (and my brothers family) and if he has ADHD I think he has something else as well.
    Since everything on the spectrum overlaps with each other its really difficult to say what someone might have. But this kind of behaviour I have only seen with people with both ADHD and Asperger/Autism. ADHD, Asperger or Autism alone rarely gives this behaviour unless its an extreme form.

    But really it can be anything. It could even be a kid without anything special, so many things can cause this behaviour. For example regular rivalry between siblings, in which he might be the one crossing the line and gets reprimanded by their parents. For a child this can feel like unfairness because only he gets punished and not his older sibling.

    [To be continued]
  • 2
    [And the story continues]

    My older brother sometimes got a punishment (like getting rid of his mouse while he had two) which really wasn't a punishment for him but made me feel like we were judged the same way.
  • 1
    Army/military school oughta fix him. Kid needs discipline. Where's pa? He should be a father figure teaching him those things.
  • 0
    @netikras
    My dad's usually at work from 8 am - 12 am. So he can't really be a father if he's at work for 16 hours.

    I've been taking care of my brother since I was about 3. So I'm trying my best to be a father and a mother to him, but I failed.
  • 2
    @Michelle all said and done, don't be too hard on yourself, only you know your situation and as much sympathy / suggestions you get, very few can understand the situation and empathize to it! So cheer up!
  • 1
    @yendenikhil
    I guess you're right. Thanks. :)
