Which Linux distro can handle 4k well? I was a bit disappointed with Mint and elementaryOS

    I think it ultimately comes down to the desktop environment. I heard that recently GNOME shell got HiDPI support. So you might wanna check that out

    @speedForce doesn't popOS use gnome? Cause that was disappointing too. I need like 1.25 scaling, but somehow all desktop environments use integer numbers. I tried to play with xrandr but no success there either

    Awesome WM has great 4k support (even with my setup of 1 4k and 1 1080p monitor) - better support than gnome imho

    Most of the trouble comes when you have multi-monitor setup with mixed hidpi and standard.

    Well the only thing you have to do is set your resolution to the native res of your monitor. It's not if the distro handles it, but rather your ability to set the resolution 😃

    @mzeffect did u try native 4k on Linux? Everything is so small that u have to stand very near to your monitor. Not good for the eyes, I can tell u that

    Try Deepin, they support HiDPI since 15.5, I think you can set it to 1.25 and such if you need that too. See here: https://deepin.org/en/2017/...
