I agree with @kb88 , at my.company we're using dialogflow.
However you have a ton of possibilities for NLP algos, and its really cool to build by yourself! -

Have you ever tried chatterbot library (python)?
Last day I tried to train a bot with a list conversation but no matter how long the list was , the bot was really stupid!
