I'm a moderate gamer, and I like online gaming (battlefront, rocket league, that kind of stuff). And I can say that from all online communities i've seen, devRant is by far the less toxic one, being actually extremely nice.
Most dev communities i've been part of are extremely competitive, but devRant is all about sharing and caring.

Why the fuck does google on actions has to have such a shitty API? Its not even an API, it's a CLI that does some magic uploading to somewhere, no webhook normal integration, no message routes. Everything goes through a magic sdk that does who knows what

Freaking dev requesting me to add an api route to give him pre-treated results no one else needs.
We're building "generic" stuff here...

Biggest dev sin: re-inventing the wheel EVERY SINGLE TIME.

The other day I fucked up. I coded a safety measure that saves a file on crash, to keep data safe.
I added two lines of code before loading the file, and they crashed. There goes all my data.
(At least got to fix that bug)

Ok so today marks one week of harrassing our client to deploy.
Finally she calls in today after agreeing to deploying tonight, and says "oh no! We tested it today, it's not ready, and we'll need this functionality on the backend tomorrow, thanks!"
So, because we don't really have a choice, we must dev a new functionality + API + interface for tomorrow.morning (it's 9PM right now)

Has anyone else noticed that Inc.com article titles are extremely clickbaity? Seriously though!
Given that, I've built Wormbait for node, it "learns" from 1040 Inc.com titles and predicts if a title is clickbait or not. `npm install -g wormbait` and launch with 'wormbait "is this clickbait"'
